Christmas is a magical time of the year, especially for children. The fable of Santa Claus, the Three Wise Men, and a child born in a manger has colluded with images of gifts wished for, along with decorations. We begin here with a very old ceramic creation of Santa Claus that becomes more valuable with time.
I happened to witness this Christmas Tree going up weeks ago, as I was out and about.
Located inside a building near a traffic intersection, it remains lit 24/7 and is rather nice.
The exchanging of gifts has taken on more meaning for me over the years. In most cases, the simpler the better. I struggled for at least half an hour to recommend a Christmas surprise for a girl I know. She was hoping to bowl over her boyfriend — a real estate house flipper who sounded (according to her description) like the proverbial “man with everything”. He certainly has the girl. Beyond that, who knows. And not to sound too unkind, but in a humorous spirit, who cares?
No, this wasn’t my friend, either. But rather a nice way to end this post and to wish each of you who visit here a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
